I hope you all have been enjoying time with family and friends this summer. For those of us working in higher education, it’s typically a time to reflect on the most recently completed academic year and start planning our work to serve students in the year to come. Of course, here at Indiana Tech, that important work takes place year-round, as our online students begin new classes every six weeks, and their fall semester began on July 24!

Here on main campus, we’ve recently welcomed back our traditional undergraduates as well as those learning in our in-person graduate courses. It is wonderful to see all the activity in our classrooms, our dorms, athletic fields and all the other spaces where students gather on our beautiful campus.

In this summer digital issue of Indiana Tech magazine, you’ll learn more about how we continue to expand our support of students as they seek to achieve their career and life goals. Just one example:  our new WarriorsConnect app—a one-stop app for all students, faculty and staff where they can connect to all things Indiana Tech. Whether they learn online or here on campus, students can now easily connect to everything from academic support advisors to course schedules to events and so much more – all at their fingertips on their phones or on their computers. Learn more in this issue’s Tech Happenings feature.

There is always much to share from our three colleges, too. The faculty and deans of our College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Talwar College of Engineering and Computer Sciences continue to help our students pursue excellence in their studies, and to innovate in their work to create new programs to meet the needs of a wide range of industries and student interests. Learn more about their work in our Inside Our Colleges feature.

A well-deserved congratulations to all of our student-athletes, coaches and athletics department leadership for the major accomplishment of winning the Learfield Directors’ Cup for the first time in 2022-23! The Directors’ Cup recognizes Indiana Tech Athletics as the top program in the entire NAIA and is awarded by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and USA Today. Indiana Tech is now one of only nine universities to earn the Learfield Directors’ Cup in the history of the award. You can read more about the Warriors winning the Cup and catch up on everything athletics-related at the Indiana Tech Athletics website.

In this issue, you’ll also find a look back at our most special day of the year, commencement day. Nearly 1,000 graduates earning everything from associate to doctoral degrees were honored at this year’s ceremony on Saturday, May 13. Mr. Blaise Alexander a nationally known businessman and philanthropist who got his start as a mechanical engineering student right here at Indiana Tech, joined us as our keynote speaker during the celebration. View photos, videos and a recap of this wonderful day in our Commencement 2023 recap.

Looking ahead to the fall, I hope you will join us for events like Homecoming 2023, our annual Athletics Hall of Fame induction banquet and the always-engaging TWIST golf tournament, which benefits student scholarships and Indiana Tech Athletics. Details about these events and others are included in our Warrior Alumni Event Notebook.

You’ll find all the details about these events and links to register for each in our Homecoming 2023 feature.

On behalf of all of us at Indiana Tech, thank you all for being Warriors, and we hope to see you here on campus very soon!

Warm regards,
