Summer brings out the best in my imagination. Maybe it’s remembering summer breaks as a kid, riding my bike around the neighborhood or visiting my grandma at the lake or staying out until the streetlights came on, no matter where I was. Maybe it’s because all of the flowers and trees are back and the world is colorful again. (Fort Wayne winters have been pretty bleak over the last few years!) Maybe it’s the boost of hope and optimism that comes out of commencement. No matter the source, the extra imagination is well-timed for a summer season of preparing for an exciting year.
Summer is a busy time for us in Alumni Relations as we already have our eyes on Homecoming 2018. Every year, the whole Warrior family bands together to make homecoming a success. We work hard to plan a weekend filled with Warrior pride that feels welcoming to all. That’s why on Sept. 27-29, we want alumni, students from the College of Professional Studies and our traditional day students, families and friends, and Indiana Tech faculty and staff to join in the fun.
This year, we’re looking forward to a bigger and better Party on the Square on Saturday with more food trucks, more games, more face painters and maximum fun! Even though Party on the Square is a highlight, it isn’t the only activity around. We’ll have a Party to the Maximus Pep Rally on Thursday night, a hockey tailgate and game on Friday night and an alumni awards breakfast and reunion on Saturday. Keep an eye on your mailbox for more information and check out indianatech.edu/homecoming for up-to-the minute details and registration information. I’d love to stay and chat, but we have a big party to plan!
Go Warriors!
